A special visit with Quilters from The Netherlands

On King's Day we visited the home of my Dutch blogging friend Yvonne van Rijn.
She lives in a beautiful historic home in Katwiijk and several months earlier she emailed to invite us to meet. I was so honored and excited for this opportunity!
We received a heartfelt Welcome!

Yvonne was a fabulous hostess, she served us a delicious Dutch meal and a special dessert to celebrate King's Day.

Yvonne also arranged for us to meet with her quilting Bee group.
We had a wonderful time getting to know each other!

Show & Tell was amazing - these talented women have been working on some very intricate quilts such as Dear Jane and a few other stunning quilt projects.

I can't thank Yvonne enough for opening her home and her heart to us! It was a magical evening of American and Dutch quilters sharing time together and quickly becoming friends! Truly the best evening of our trip!

Next week I will share about our final day in The Netherlands.
Another Fairytale of an adventure with the happiest of endings.

every quilt tells a story....

  9. I have been looking forward to your post about meeting some of the Dutch quilters. I am assuming they spoke some English. I know many of the Dutch know English fairly well.

  10. Thank you for giving us a glimpse of what looks like such a memorable adventure for you. A great idea to take some of your Dutch Treat blocks along and pair them up in perfect settings. Loved seeing all the Dear Janes and that sweet house quilt - two projects I am also in the slow process of doing.
