A Small challenge quilt

I am participating in a Coin Quilt challenge. The only criteria was "make a coin quilt". No size or pattern specifications - whatever you envision a coin quilt to be.

These are the fabrics I gathered together. I decided to make a traditional coin quilt.
And I knew I wanted to make it small. (no surprise there)

The center looked a bit plain to me so I decided to fussy cut and mitre the floral & stripe Jo Morton fabric to create an interesting border. I also decided to hand quilt it to keep with the reproduction feel of the quilt. This little quilt finished at 16" x 18".

I turned the finished quilt in on Saturday. I'll be sure to share pictures of all the finished quilts in this challenge (including mine) once they are on display.

Dutch Treat update

These are the last four 5" applique' blocks I've completed for my Dutch Treat quilt.
The quilt contains 196 blocks - leaving me 181 to complete.
Additionally, there will be an outside applique' border.

My sister and several of my quilting friends have decided to start their own Dutch Treat journeys. It will be fun to follow up with them and hopefully, share photo's of their work in the future.

Benjamin Biggs block - April

Today is the first of May - which means the 5th block pattern for Benjamin Biggs has been revealed. It suddenly dawned on me that I didn't post my April block as I had planned earlier this week.
(I've been working on another small quilt and the time has gotten away from me)

Here is a close up of the reproduction fabrics I used for April's block.

Here are the blocks I've made so far - I'm happy we are on block 5 - it means the end of our first row. This is significant to me because I decided to wait until the first row was finished before I decide on an applique' motif for the outside corners of my blocks.
