A May Finish

Just a couple of weeks into the month and I'm happy to say that my redwork Calendar Girl for May has a finished block/border.
The pattern I chose for the block surround is a variation of a popular block with several names.  I like Ladies Choice and thought it most appropriate for May and Mother's Day.

Vintage Rouge BOM Month #1

Here is Block #1 of the Vintage Rouge 6 month BOM program by Marcus Brothers.
I'm hosting a free sew-along for quilter's that are making this quilt. It's a forum to help motivate, exchange tips/ideas and share your pictures and progress. You can find easy assembly tips/tutorials each month by clicking HERE.

I really like this quilt!  I'm looking forward to sharing with you the blocks each month and of course, the finished Vintage Rouge quilt.

May Applique' blocks

Here are just a few of my applique' blocks for Modern Jane. Last week I also completed a few more of the triangles.

I am hopeful to work on some of my Civil War fabric triangles this month as well. It will be nice to catch up to where I am with the modern triangle borders this summer!

May Redwork block

Here is my May Calendar Girl.
I make 2 of these blocks each month - the first one I mail off to my friend Sue and the 2nd one I keep for myself.

I have an extremely hectic schedule this year traveling, teaching and creating 17 block tutorials each month. Working on these stitcheries at night help me to unwind. I find the work very relaxing and enjoyable. Hand quilting small projects gives me that same sense of "Calm".
I'm very grateful for Hand-Work!
What a wonderfully therapeutic and rewarding art form.

Wishing you all a very Happy and Productive May!
