Mid month Dutch Treat blocks

FUNNY FACE

IRIS

PARTRIDGE

Off to a good start for January, I now have 5 blocks completed for the month.
The Partridge (in a pear tree) was a bit fussy to needle and I'm not over joyed with how it finished. But in the grand scheme of things, I think it's a "keeper".

I have a couple other projects on the cutting table waiting their turn.
A Red wreath in progress for the Botanical Album quilt, and little Stonefields stacked up as if saying "Play with me, play with me".
And so I shall........(grin)

every quilt tells a story...

  1. I sure hope you're making two of each of these blocks, so I get a quilt, too!

  2. Of course it is a keeper ; clearly you are too hard on yourself / they are all gorgeous :) I am always amazed when we view antique quilts...many of them are not perfect...yet we are just enamoured with them. Well real people made them, that is why :)

  3. I recognized the one block as a partridge right away so it does work.

  6. Your Dutch treat blocks always make me smile! Soothing colors and beautiful stitchery! And your wreath from the previous post is just gorgeous! I've set down my hand appliqué, but hope to pick it up later this year!

Love to see the stories your quilts tell!

  8. Beautiful! Your chart is filling up. You are just like me. My husband calls me a creative flea. I get halfway through one thing and I just can't wait to start another!

  9. I love the partridge, but I can see that there are some really tight spots. I think it looks great.
