Making progress at Home and on Retreat

POIROT

HIGHWAY

My first 2 Treat blocks for November were finished just before departing to my Quilt Retreat. That made the decision on what to bring much easier.
My priority was to complete 143 hourglass blocks for the Blue & Cream quilt.
Happy to say that I accomplished my goal. Here they are - all 144 of them:

Although I spent most of retreat working on these Hourglass blocks, I was able to prep the final 2 wool blocks for the Let it Snow Mystery BOM.

All they need now is embellishments.
The final sashing/assembly instructions will be released later this month.

I hope your week has started off with fabric in hand!

  2. I love the background fabric on your first Treat block. The white on white scissors are too cute!

Congrats on finishing the hourglass blocks, they are so pretty. And I love the Let It Snow BOM. What stitch do you use to stitch the pieces down? How do you determine what color thread to use? (Aren't I full of questions today?!?)

  3. A retreat sounds so good and looks like you accomplished a lot. Sometimes, at retreats, it is hard to focus on a sewing goal. Too much talking and snacking.
