Love Entwined and Scrap Basket Sunday

I've decided to combine 2 topics into one project this week.
If you look to my right sidebar you will see a new link button for Love Entwined just below Kim's for Scrap Basket Sunday.

After much deliberation, I decided to join in on Esther Aliu's 18 month sew along. Of course I have BillieBee to blame thank for bringing this project to my attention.

This compass is the center of the quilt and the assignment for month #1. (I'm sorry the picture's a little wonky)
There is an outer ring to add with tiny circle applique's and then this block will be complete. I'm working on that part while vacationing in Dallas TX this week. Good thing because Month #2 begins tomorrow.

I want to make this quilt using only fabrics I have on hand. The only exception will be the purchase of background fabric and (2) half yard cuts of purple reproduction prints that I need want for my applique' and pieced borders.

Esther has a wonderful yahoo group set up with tutorials and support if you are interested in creating your own Love Entwined!

every quilt tells a story....

  6. Went over and checked out Esther's post on Love Entwined. Wow!!! I also watched her tutorial on prepping applique, I like that she uses starch and removes all of the paper. This is quite the project and you are going to make it amazing! Love your fabric choices. It's going to be great watching your progress on this one.

  8. Your compass looks great. I too am working on Love Entwined and started part 2 today. I got the last of my fabrics while in Dallas last week. I went to Happiness is Quilting in McKinney and had a blast buying some of the reproduction Dutch Chintz but the rest is coming from my stash. I look forward to following your progress!
